Purposes and legal bases

We process data to respond to enquiries, deliver booked consultations, issue invoices, meet accounting duties, and — where you consent — understand which guides are useful via analytics cookies. Legal bases include Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract/pre-contract), Art. 6(1)(c) (legal obligation), Art. 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest in secure site operation), and Art. 6(1)(a) (consent for non-essential cookies).

Retention

Enquiry messages without a booked engagement are typically retained up to 12 months. Client files for paid consultations are retained for the duration of the engagement and thereafter as required by German commercial and tax law (generally up to 10 years for accounting records). Cookie consent choices remain in your browser until you clear storage.

Recipients and international transfers

Hosting and email providers may process data on our behalf under contracts. If a provider stores data outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required. We do not sell personal data.

Your rights

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection where applicable under the GDPR. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing. You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in DE (for example the Landesbeauftragte for data protection in Rheinland-Pfalz).
