Refunds & cancellations
These terms apply to paid consultations with DistributedCogni Employment Guidance for career-change planning, reskilling pathway mapping, application coaching, and return-to-work planning in Germany.
Eligibility
Fees are charged for professional time and preparation. Refunds are available only as described below. We do not sell physical products, software subscriptions, or course seats; those models are outside this policy.
Cancellation by you
- More than 48 hours before a scheduled session: full refund of prepaid session fees, or free reschedule.
- Within 48 hours: 50% refund of that session fee, or one reschedule if we have capacity within two weeks.
- No-show without notice: no refund for that session.
Pathway packages
For Reskilling Pathway Mapping (multi-session plans), a deposit may be required. If you cancel after the first session is completed, the deposit is non-refundable; remaining prepaid unused sessions are refunded at 70% if cancelled with at least 48 hours’ notice before the next session. Work already delivered (written notes, completed hours) is non-refundable.
Rescheduling
You may reschedule once per booking without charge when you give at least 48 hours’ notice. Further reschedules may be billed as a new booking if preparation must be repeated.
Cancellation by us
If we must cancel, you may choose a full refund of prepaid fees for the affected session(s) or a replacement appointment at no extra cost.
Refund process and timing
Email info@distributedcogni.digital with your booking reference and reason. Approved refunds are processed within 14 business days to the original payment method.
Non-refundable items
- Completed consultation hours and issued pathway documents
- Third-party costs you incurred separately (course fees, travel, notarisation)
- Administrative bank fees charged by your provider, where applicable
Exceptions
Mandatory consumer rights under German law remain unaffected. If illness prevents attendance, provide notice as soon as practicable; we will prioritise rescheduling over partial refunds where possible.
